Help please. ATM cash machines

Here in Sweden when I use an ATM cash machine to withdraw cash from my Swedish bank, I can also print out a mini balance statement of the last four transactions.

I wonder if this mini-statement is also available on ATM machines in other European countries. It would be a tremendous benifit to me if I could use this system to keep a check on my account without having to log on the internet at cafe’s and such places.

I'm not sure how much help this is, but I can get statements of my current bank balance on other UK banks' cash machines. I can also get a mini-statement from my own bank's cash machines, but I've not tried getting one from another bank's cash machines.

It will probably depend on whether your bank is part of the same company as an English bank.

I bank with HSBC and they have this facility on their own ATM's and there are several options to print out. I can withdraw money from most ATM's belonging to other banks and can get an on screen balance, but there is not usually an option to print out any form of statement from them.

Thanks for the replies. Even an on-screen balance check would be usefull.

I am mainly concerned with my forthcoming route through Germany, Holland and France canal system then mast up again and on to Greece.

better option is to have on-line banking then you can check every time you log on to give us an up-date on your journey!

My Swedish bank is only internet with no High Street presence I will certainly try to log on and pass on experiences to the forum when I get the connections.

Does the card have Link, Visa or Mastercard connnections? If so, it will work in most European ATMs, if not you might struggle, have you asked your bank?
