Help Pick My First Sailboat!

Yep it sold today.

I'm starting to think Larry and Lin Pardy are frauds LOL.
There is no such thing as a good cheap used sailboat...
There are top boats for top dollar, then there are projects. Unfortunately, it's far too frequent that the seller confuses the two. Just once in a while, they'll get the confusion the right way round for the buyer, but it's rare.

Don't despair, get your hunting boots on. I like the look of this:

Used 1977 Grand Soleil 34 | Botentekoop

Not conveniently sited I must admit but every hardship is an opportunity.

Nice boat for sure. Really nice. Repowered. And I do like the wet locker right at the bottom of the companionway. Much more useful than a dog cage IMO. I also like the forward facing window in the coachroof.

I wonder how long it would take to sail it home to The Netherlands? And is the Bay of Biscay still dangerous in springtime/summer?

If it comes to that I'll get an experienced crew from a crew finder site to help get her home. After of course a nice sailing holiday in The Med, which actually sounds pretty nice. That really is a pretty fantastic looking boat BTW, good eye Doug748!

I have to say though that I have found another boat that I've had my eye on for some time now and I don't want to say too much and jinx the deal, but I'm super hopeful it goes through. I like the owner, and it's also got some good Karma involved. And it's my favorite make and model. And it's a bit of a voyage, a challenge for my skill set for sure, but still not too far from home. If we seal the deal I will definitely post an update :)
