Hi, as all your boat people say today was one fo the good days when owning a boat, I purchased my first what I call proper boat a Doral 250 SE for the family, I am going to sea trial it which should be all OK and take ownership of it next Friday 9th April 2010 from essex boat yard and need to get it back to West Mersea where I have got a mooring, need help from someone who is available next friday or worst way Saturday to safely navigate it up to West Mersea, I dont have any proper experience as yet to do this myself and it wouldnt be the right thing to do also, need to get on a course to understand the ways of the sea ASAP, if anyone can help me out dont mind giving them a drink to help me get my first of the two good days when owning a boat on its way "THE DAY YOU BUY" and the "DAY YOU SELL".

Peter,

Surely, as a new boat owner Essex are offering you some tuition aren't they?

If not ask them to help out or suggest a local skipper to assist and train you at the same time.

It will help you to enjoy the boat even more of you are happy/confident with it!

Mike.

Yep, as Imperial One says have a word with Essex boat yard, I,m sure they will help
Do the RYA PB2 course asap, it's a great base for powerboating and good fun

You should be able to combine the two by engaging the services of a professional for a one day course. Prob'ly cost you about £150, but it'll be money well spent. Especially if you've no experience of berthing.
