Help needed on 1st sailing cruiser

I'm sorry, I should know better but I've got to ask.

If your "chum" was such a bloody good engineer how come he didn't notice the boat he'd just bought was knackered?

Or did you simply mean "chump"....?

Why? Because I bought a boat without a survey. That's why. Mechanical and latterly system engineering is what I do, have never attempted to understand the complexities of GRP catastrophic damage until after the thing sank on its mooring.

I was also badly let down by a supposedly reputable boat builder on Hayling island for the repairs. Do you boat repairs, by any chance?

Was it damaged before or was the structural design so poor it just fell apart?
