Hi, I need to buy a new cutlass bearing for my friend's J92 the rubber/brass type shaft diameter 25mm x bearing outer diameer 36mm, Any idea where I can buy from as have browsed to no avail. or maybe I have to look in inches not metric? In that case maybe somebody can post me the exact measurements in inches.
THANKS

ASAP Supplies is another source. Imperative you get the correct metric size. Bearings are made in both imperial and metric size but are not interchangeable.

I have an American-built J105 from 1999 and she has a one inch shaft, not 25mm, as they have Imperial fittings. Your friends J92 may be similar, unless it was built in France with possibly metric fittings. J-UK might be able to advise you and are usually very helpful, tel 02380 455669. My cutlass bearing was professionally replaced about 3 yrs ago, so you could ask Darthaven Marina's Engineers at Kingswear, Devon, tel 01803 752733, where they sourced mine from, if that's any help.

It is also possible that one diameter (eg. the shaft) would be metric while the other (the shell) is Imperial... or vice versa. This is what I found on my boat when I replaced the cutless bearing a couple of years ago.

Puffthemagicdragon is correct - measure the shaft and outside of the cutlass bearing with a micrometer - my friends boat was imperial shaft and metric cutlass. ASAP are good.

We do any size but composite not rubber. All shaft bearings are made to suit shaft size and finished for length and OD to order.

We recommend fitting bearings as a clearance fit and using a thin epoxy film to bed/hold them for this reason we prefer to know the ID of the carrier.
