Help ! My Sealine wont get on the plane

I have an old Sealine S328 with Volvo petrol engines. Everything seems ok and the engines sount sweet and rev right up to the limit when in neutral. The problem is that she wont get up on the plane any more. In gear she revs up to about 3000 and just sits pushing about 12 knts on the edge of planing but wont get over the final "hump". She was fine up until now and nothing has changed. Anyone got any ideas for anything obvious that I can check before I write a blank cheque to the engineers ! Thanks,

Weed or the like round yer props ?

Are the hull/drives clean underneath, props OK?
When did you last change the fuel filters, water seperators, and change/clean the air filters/ flame arrestors.
A petrol engine will often run up to its limit with no-load, but not under load if the filters are blocked as the fuel flow is considerably higher then.
I'd check these basic things first before calling in the engineers.

Seriously if she was ok very recently that sounds like junk or rubbish around the prop(s), if it was months ago since planing, then dirty bottom.

Hi fellow 328 user from Penarth Marina. Good advice above one other thought has anyone played with the leg trims i.e. are they trimmed all the way in when your trying to gat on the plain?

You don't say what the engines are - and whether injection or carb, but if they're carb engines the problem could be there -
I've just experienced exactly the same thing with the secondary jets not opening.

Possibly timing - but less likely.

If you've got contact ignition - check the dwell

Our boat was doing the exect same last week - revving to 3000rpm and only just on the plane.

However at the weekend we took up her to a sandy beach in about 3 feet of water. I went into the loch (absolutely freezing btw) and scrubbed what I could of the bottom with a long brush. Now does 3500 rpm and planes nicely. Still another 1000rpm to go but i'm guessing if we get it lifted out and scrubbed properly it'll run to the full speed.

Thank you all for the advice. She is definately a bit grubby underneath so I'll give her a good scrub at the weekend and have a look at the filiters too. Thanks again.
