help me source a 4-5KVA, 4pole (1500rpm), single phase, 240V 50Hz alternator to replace my 3000rpm 2pole one!

all in the subject line really!

toying more and more with the idea of running my generator (when and if needed) at 1500rpm (v.quiet!) as I really don't have a use for the 8KVA it is capable of producing.
Based on the power output of my Yanmar 2GMF I could only really do 4.5KVA (which is fine)
So looking for a replacement on mine. Already in another thread discussed the options of pulleys and running it at lower rpm, not too keen, hence looking for such.
I know that Mecc Alte do one that will fit (I already have a Mecc Alte MR2-200) which is the LT3/100 but cannot find a supplier or price in Europe.
Anything else happy to hear, no fancy things, just a capacitor for the excitation circuit will be fine, no dash, gauges, etc!
Man maths says I shouldn't be paying more than 400-500 for it, only possibly found things in alibaba but never bought off them and wont for such a price...

mr FARSCO/google let's see your search magic!

cheers

Mecc Alte have a big operation in Oakham, Rutland. I have brought a couple of alternators from them before.

thanks guys, I'm aware of their website/main retalers, thing is the LT3 is out of production, no idea if I can get it off the main dealer (nearest to me is IT, I'll email them!) but I cannot find any retailer selling them, nor can I find ex-demo/sh or whatever.
Newer options are full of electronics and not too keen for the work I want it to do!

Also that was a hint on what would/should fit, wouldn't mind a cheaper alternative :) from the depths of China maybe as I'm afraid the price I'm willing to pay wont be an even near match to what Mecc Alte expect to get for their kit...

cheers

Mecc Alte UK do lots of rewinds and repaired units, I would not discount them. I was surprised how cheap there units were, last year I brought a 25kW 1500 rpm 3 phase alternator complete with AVR for £800.

thank you guys, now I have a few more names/companies to search!
trying to find GR dealers for Mr Googler's linked brands, not easy...

cheers

wish it was that simple mr Googler...
been there, the first one doesn't sell any, the other only sells 8KVA+ models (and I want a max 5, really 4.5)

Bugger.....I’ll keep trying!

can you not buy direct from Italy?

maybe MapisM can drop it off. Need to strap it down if it’s delivered by boat. Not an Itama after all!

it's interesting to note that the companies that come up on google are:

Mecc Alte
Linz
NSM

all three are Italian (and first two well known and used widely)
can that be right? what am I missing?
I can buy direct from IT, but as I said, I wont pay over 500euro for the benefit of having a smaller generator (which is fine) which is going to be v.quiet.
Doesn't look like I have cheaper options :-(
and cheaper should come from the east!

I’ve ordered direct via alibaba.

it went fine...best to message the supplier first as they do tend to say in stock then it’s not but I found responses to be very quick.

Alibaba has improved since it’s Wild West start

Not sure about alibaba...
We are talking a big heavy box, not sure how customs ppl are going to cope (in biting me I mean!)
Further, OK it's not a live or death piece of hardware, but rather not having it fail on me.
In short I'd be happier buying something from the EU (even a CN import) but I feel it's going to be easier to deal with.
Good thing is that now I'm gathering names of companies and models that fit, so easier to search.
