Hi , new to this !! I have an Intex trolling motor , 40,,lb to put on my Intex 5 man dingy

My issue is that when I turn it on , it's goes for between ,5 and 8 seconds then stops , I have the correct battery which is fully charged , and I have tried on my friends other batteries and it does the same thing , I'm no electrician but I have looked at the connections and they are all clean and tight , any help would be appreciated

You do have the motor on a boat and in the water , or is it the auto shut off feature that operates above a certain speed setting if out of the water ?

Maybe its that feature malfunctioning ?????

Other wise is anything obstructing free rotation of the prop ?

Hello
Did you know what is the problem cuz same problem
I would suspect some sort of overload protection device, possibly some sort of heat detector on the motor. Can't say what as not familiar with the unit but if bi-metal, could be duff. Just a thought.
