Help! I like Targas!

Second hand might be a good way to go as having received their literature this morning, everything seems to be an extra!

Problem is I do like buying things new and speccing them exactley as I want them.

Even though I have no idea of the boat in discussion i too will take exception to the 'sportsboat.. back of targa' comment.

My little 15 foot ocr hits 60mph has successfully circumnavigated the UK in waves off Devon greater than 20+ feet and is still rock solid!

by the way have you got pictures of this boat your discussing sounds intruiging can you put a link up I dont want to have to search about to find a picture.

Re: Brendan

Yes, I've said before that a Windy is about the only way to go, but the Hunton is interesting, never thought of that before.

Re: Brendan

Brendan,
Have you thought about an Extreme? 60MPH with a 5.7ltr small block / Yanmar or 70MPH with a 7.4ltr large block.. No windscreen either! Best handling boat I ever owned in any sort of sea.... Mind you I have a Windy now!

Whats wrong with an Amazon Im on my second,200k and only a switch on one and one wiper on the other. The truck faired better under the Bristol Channel than some boats as seen on Top Gear last Sunday.

Re: Brendan

Hi Stu,
Hardly a 'cruising' boat tho! If I move up, it has to have some creature comforts

Say hi to Stella for me

Just got home from putting Ryds to bed for 3 months only to find another MBM article praising the Targa. I'M NO LONGER A FAN, now that I've tried one. Targas are rubbish - wheelhouse looks like a portacabin from the outside and like a 1960's minibus from the inside. Cramped - steering wheel fouls the throttle lever when latter is in certain positions ; no knee room on the bench behind Pilot & Co-pilot's seat ; only two proper berths; little internal stowage. SO SO EXPENSIVE !!!
Hopefully this will put a few of you off as we don't want any competition when we are looking for a 2nd hand one next year /forums/images/icons/wink.gif.
Driving up M5 just missed witnessing Concorde's "last last flight" - my timing never was any good. Damn!

Mind you like a Skoda it does come with a free stigma

Topless targas

yup, I'm a fan too, specially for the uk/n europe - wouldn't have thouight them so great for med -the pilothouse makes less sense. In fact I had a little trytout of them at a boat show. Wessex said feel free have a look round, so I did. Lots good ideas, the fwd deck treamanet is good and command bridge. Down below is known as less than roomy for this size boat (27-40 all of them really) so i made sure to sneak a little lie down in the aft cabin. Hm, quite comfy, not bad. Turned round and a tall blonde girl was in the process of taking her top off. Coo. Unfortunately, she hastily stopped taking her top off upon realising I was there. I think she saw the funny side although I'm sure I was smiling more than she was. Turns out it was the salesmans daughter, and they usually used that cabin for changing clothes. Best boat visit I have ever ever had.

Ever driven a Fabia? - superb build quality - cracking little car. I'm Welsh, balding, overweight, in my dotage and drive a beaten up old Volvo 850 T5 estate. So don't talk to me about stigmas./forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
Bet it's nice on the C.del Dosh just now - had to clear the ice off the car this a.m. Roll on Spring - days start to get longer in 4 weeks time.

Mmmm the new 5 series is an ugly creature innit - even worse than the 7. Be very interesting to see what the new 3 will be like. Still, what do you expect when they use a yank designer. Have you seen the state of the Chrysler Crossfire - ha ha ha ha ha choke.

They seem to be getting better. The XC90 isn't at all bad. Even Clarkson put it on his 2003 top 10 'Cool list', and he's not exactly an avid volvo fan.

Fabia...... ermm ...... sounds a bit feminine if you know what I mean
Costa del Dosh if fine at the moment, a bit windy but still 22 degrees/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

The X5 is just an estate car with wildly enormous wheels and still lacking in class as im afraid i feel all BMWs do. Near me the only people you see driving them are wanna be rap star look -a -likies, all street clothes (for street clothes read track suits) and more jewellery than Jimmy saville
