Having spent days sanding and treating our teak rails I'm now looking for something to protect them from fender ropes. We saw something inn Jersey on a beautiful AquaStar made of sheeps skin leather/wool with a jamming cleat on top to hold the rope. However I have no idea what it's called and a google search has drawn a blank.
Any ideas what it's called and even better who sells them?

I know exactly what you are referring to and don't know the "official" name either. But I have seen them on Flemming's. Give Flemming in Southampton a ring on 02380 337289. I'm sure they will know what they are called.

Thanks Colin that's the thing. Effing expensive! I think Debs might be put to work with her old sheepskin rug and sewing machine :)

If you got some stainless bent to cover with sheepskin and some cheap plastic jam cleats, I reckon theyd be just as good!
I looked at them for Englander, I might just try and make some myself.
