help - broken fridge

help my engels fridge is playing up. the compressor is very hot and there is no vibration indicating motor rotation. the ice box and the external radiator are at room temp. any clues??? can they be fixed or is it open wallet surgery ??? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Open wallet, probably the compressor is shagged, they have an overheat/over amp switch on them that lets them try to start and this will cycle until it all gets hot. Switch the thing off, let it cool down properly. Then switch it on with your ear close by and see if it starts to make a noise, dont forget it is just a little compressor so it should sound like one.
If not then get a fridge mechanic in, dont get a boatyard spark in, they dont know enough to be of help
