i have bought some brick cleaner today which is made of 16% hydrochloric acid with the intention of using it to clean my stainless steel trim tabs, Will it also be safe to use on my aluminium props as well or will it damage them. Do i need to dilute the mixture more or will it be safe to use as it comes.how long do i leave it on before rinsing with water. I have also ordered from boots the Anhydrous lanolin as recommended by glundy and i intend to warm it up in a pan of boiling water to help spread it on to my trim tabs rather than painting them with trylux

Its fantastic stuff!. I use it on trim tabs, props, and best of all to clean out heat exchangers, oil coolers, intercoolers etc. Just fill em up and leave over night and they come up like new.

I do it every 3 years or sooner if there is an over heat problem. You have to remove it from the engine, stand it upright blocking off the bottem holes. Fill it up with the brick acid, marvel at the reassuring fizz and leave overnight. It comes out as clean and good as new. Make sure you rinse it out well afterwards.

my boat is only two years old and i do not seem to have a problem with overheating as yet, but i have learned something else this evening so can i thank you for the advice no doubt it will come in handy in the future.
