Worst time was in St Peters Port. Massive big rafts as usual. I was on the pontoon. There about five wide in front and same behind. Bloke next to me says he's going out forwards!! So theres two of us and the blokes wife trying to hold all fifteen tons of arse end off, Whist he sits there pressing the bloody BT..!! Course, I went straight out backwards with no hassle and no bow fluster!! Bloody bow thruster mainiacs !!

Oh do stop going on about Bow Thrusters as if theyre some sort of instrument of the Devil !!!!
Like everything else in life they can be used well or badly and the difference is usually down to the expertise or stupidity of the geezer pressing the buttons.
I have a single screw on shaft steel boat on a congested waterway and believe me the BT is bloody brilliant.
I also drive lots around heavily traffic congested roads and the automatic gearbox on the car makes that easier too......as does having a toaster instead of sticking bread under the grill and a vacuum cleaner instead of using a brush and shovel. I'm also quite fond of the duvet that means making the bed is a doddle, the motorised lawnmower, the wireless mouse for the pooter.....need I go on?

Actually, I quite like you....thanks for endorsing my float switch alarm inintiative......

Ah, but you is a southerner see. Fancy gadgets like toasters and stuff. The forum wouldn't be the forum if Haydn didn't have his Northern ludite tendencies on flash gizmos like bow thrusters.......though he does use flash gizmos like autopilots instead of helming his boat like a proper seafarer!

Bloody bow thrusters are insruments of the devil!! Well most that use them seem to be absolute tossers anyway!! As I have said many times. It's not the bt I have anything against, it's just the t***'* that use them on every concievable occasiton. Glad you like me..../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Brendan, your right as ussual. I nearly never use the wheel. I think it's some thing out of the ark. But I am into duvetts..!!

Useless inventions

Wireless mouse. Now that is a useless invention. The wire stops the mouse getting lost, so getting rid of it is a step backwards

Sorry - you are of course right re fixed wing aircraft. The aberration came from my last active flying - 3 years in Whirlwinds Malaya 56-59.
