well just thought I would say hello again, I joined the forum last year and found it a great source of info and toys, but a month or so in my PC went fut and I have only just got round to getting a new one sorted (could not afford one as I am spending far too much on the boat!!)

PS. anyone got any hints on good ways to smooth badly applied anti foul, still suffering from the botched diying of my boats previous owner!

You can sand it off, but make sure you are wearing a good face mask as the dust is really toxic (plus gloves coverall etc). You will need to assess the best /most cost effective method yourself as you dont provide enough data (e.g if the old A/F is eroding then the problem will go away). Assuming thatyour A/F is a hard mix, you are faced with either removing it completly using a scraper (The sandvik is the best) or using a paint remover such as http://www.bcaviation.co.uk/paint_stripper/paint_stripper.htm or getting in someone to blast it off
Alternatively, if it is a localised problem that will respond to sanding, get yourself a flexible sanding disc (such as the du-it-all disc from QVC) and apply carefully - and I do mean carefully.
