Approaching the Chichester Harbour Bar. Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.

The infamous Solent Chop. And the crowds.

SOG 26.5 kts. All systems go. Apart from not having much diesel. Enough for today, though.

Obligatory wake shot.

Hey another boat. Who said you could share my Solent? I'm off.

Hmmm, that's better.

Re: Hell on the Solent

But it was like that on Wednesday.
And Thursday.
A few raggies going nowhere, shivering in thermals.
Cowes empty: no-one collecting dues, pubs empty, bistros shut for hols.
Nice lunch in the Club tho.
Pretty sunset on the way back.
Typical winter boating.
Shouldn't post pics - they'll only get withdrawal symptons.

It was just as bad last Sunday.

Heading for Chichester from St Catherine's Point:

and shocking in the harbour:

As for yesterday evening, what with the full moon and everything....

It's swings and roundabouts. You can go out to play Sunday, whereas my Sunday will be spent heading towards the BA Economy Class check-in for a 7 hour flight to New Jersey.

I spent the weekend in Anglesey, and the Irish sea was a touch rough, the only people going out where the odd raggie, and the ferry, so you did well down south!

Not quite true Martyn.

I moved the boat last Saturday Sunday from Anglesey with no sails! ............but it did bounce a bit. Sunday afternoon when I got to my destination was super, it was the 10 hrs prior that was a bitch!

Yikes! So who was driving while you were taking all these pictures?

We also had a great trip down to Poole yesterday and back today round the southside of the island. (The Solent was too busy /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) Great views round there. The overfalls were heavy going though.

Wish I took a picture now, the waves...

Must have been 6" high! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hell on the Solent today

Can't vouch for yesterday, but today was absolute hell! SWMBO and me were invited out by Mr and Mrs Banks.

As you can see it was terrible going down the Hamble this morning!

Roger - Jez was on phone to you !!

And Mrs Banks hated helming into Cowes - (caption competition here maybe?)

Andrea-aghast-051106.jpg

And the views from the Hamble tonight were terrible!!

It really is terrible this November boating lark /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

ITS MEEEE...... picture 5!

Wow never seen a picture of my boat by someone else before, (please excuse my novice excitement) saw you coming up on my Port quarter, on Saturday with a large container ship just port of you, well I guess that’s where the picture was taken. Your boat looked great and planned well.

I was on my way to the Sealift at Cowes. Can I get a copy of the picture from somewhere (Photobucket etc?)

Cheers
