Just finally bought a copy of this from Alibris-first edition hard back unused-about £8
Great thing about the first edition is it was written when modern electronics were just beginning to appear so represents arguably a very pure view of this subject.

Though it probably doesn't mention drogues?

The edition I have was updated in light of more modern evidence suggesting a drogue, ideally JSD, is a better option than a sea anchor.

Not everything in t'old days was better. Doctors, for example, don't fondly look back to the days of blood letting and unsterilised equipment... well, maybe some do :p

Regardless, a jolly good buy at £8, if only for the stories at the back.

Thanks for sharing! It's interesting because I am always advising people to treat social discussion like a good dinner party---have fun and be yourself but always be respective of others and listen as much or more than you talk. :)
