We have a notoriously crap central heating boiler (Gloworm). It breaks with monotonous regularity and each failure usually means several days without heating.
Have decided to get some means of temporary electric heating for huddling around in the lounge.
Have looked in the Argos catalogue and there are loads to choose from and all fairly cheap to buy
What would you recommend as the most suitable and economical to use.
Would a fan heater be better than an oil filled radiator and whats a ceramic heater ?
Help please

With electricity they all have the same efficiency - its how they make you feel that makes the difference.

Is your boiler oil or gas ? Our oil boiler is a bugger.

This works quite well for us

Looks a little elaborate and permanent to set up for a few days whilst the central heating boiler is down. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have Linn speakers with the rest QUAD but my pre amp and tuner have just given up on me. Can't deciede if its best to repair or replace with new. I suppose DAB has to be taken into account ( that expensive loft ariel was a waste of time then ?)

Ceramic heaters more compact and safer than fan heaters so good on board if you have shore power - about £35.
