Hello all,
I am considering installing heating in my s23. Can anybody recommend a particular make and model of heater.

Thanks.

Maybe the following supplier can help. They don't advertise the marine components but they can supply them.
A 2kW heater should be sufficient , I expect.

Been discussed a lot here. A search for e.g. Chinese or Planar or heater should find a lot of reading.

If fresh water cooled there will be options also for heater marix use, but that will provide heat only when engine running (like in a car).

For use when shorepower is available, a 240v heater fan is a common choise. Cheap, fast and efficient with no install.

I do have a 240 fan heater that does a good job when we have shore power, but the noise and the positioning of it with limited sockets does become annoying. I would like something that doesn't rely on shore power or the engine running.

Any fuel / blower driven heater will make noise as well. For you and anyone nearby (exhaust).
Depending on installation you'd need ducting, air supply, etc. to be factored in.

For use on shore power I installed a heater panel. IP classified for bathrooms, completely silent, accurate tempeture keeping etc.
Went for a black glass model from Norwegian Adax Neo Black Modern 800W Electric Panel Heater with wifi app feature.

What did you decide to go for? We have an s25 we are looking at heating for-does anyone have an photos of where their heater units are installed on s23/25 please?

I suggest you ask this on Sealine Forum where there will almost certainly be someone with a S25 with a heater

There are a few different camps but Eberspacher/ Webasto, Chinese rip offs or Planar are the main contenders. There are as many different opinions as to which is the best but a search on here will provide many hours of reading. What I will say about Eberspachers and I assume all others is that the fuel pump emits a continuous
ticking sound whilst the heater is running and although fairly quiet, it can become quite intrusive at night if the heater is running on a thermostat or timer so bear it in mind when planning the installation. The further away from the cabin the better :-)

A raggie I know fitted a chink heater and it’s lasted less than 6 months now they have disapeared off eBay , so he did the right thing and bought another Chinese one.
