My aged mykuni diesel heater packed up

I bought a Vevor replacement for 109 quid.

However, the new unit's exhaust is 24mm diameter (the Makuni was only 21mm}

Can I use a reducer piece to plug the existing exhaust pipe into the larger item?

Is the 3mm difference like to cause any issues?

Or should I replace the complete exhaust with a 24mm type?

Its one of those strange matters ...

You would think that going from one size down to a slightly smaller size would not be a problem ... but it can actually cause a reduced throughput due to interference pressure wave. But if you go from small to larger - its fine.

Believe it or not - we get this on discharge pipework .. ships often have to discharge into smaller pipework .. which then fails to meet even the smaller pipe rated throughput ... because of the joint reduction point.

Back to Pablo's exhaust ? It would probably work OK - but as Paul suggests - maybe its best to replace it with 24mm.
