Heart over brain I'm considering buying a wooden boat

Just as a follow up, we have had a good look (and poke) around and apart from a couple of cracked ribs and three bits of planking that need to be replaced she seems to be in pretty sound condition, although needing a lot of tidying and replacement of some missing bits and bobs, oh and probably a new engine (outboard initially). I am quite sure the list will get longer.

It always does but this is part of the fun! You can just sister up a few laminated ribs next to cracked ones and if small amounts of planking are rotten you can scarf in a patch.

Sadly it seems that someone else has snapped up the boat before I had a chance to secure it for myself - I little bit gutted although it has perhaps saved me a lot of work.

Fancy a wooden Folkboat? SOOOoo much 'food for the heart' built in. Does need a bit of stuff to it, but she is/will be doubly gorgeous.
