Heads knitting

Mine is nearly as bad as both shower and basin have outlets to both seacocks and the grey water holding tanks, controlled by ball valves. Next winter I am going to rationalise matters by removing the seacocks and having the holes in the hull sealed so that both only feed to the holding tanks. In the last year I have never used the seacocks and all grey water is tanked. By doing that in both heads I will get rid of four through hulls and their associated valves plus four other ball valves.

Norman, are you talking about toilet holding tank or do you have a separate grey water tank for the sink/shower? I wouldn't think putting the waste from them into a toilet holding tank is such a good idea space wise.

I have a black water tank for each of the heads, and two grey water tanks in the bilges with pipework arranged so that either tank can be filled with the other held in reserve. I designed and installed the grey water system, but now intend to rationalise it and simplify the plumbing next time the boat is on the hard.
