Hi,

Does anyone know where you can purchase a headlining kit for a Seawych?

Also the windows are crazed. Again can a recommendation be made?

Thanks

I am not aware of kits being avaialble for Sea Wyches, only for Westerlies. Sadler originally just supplied a roll of 12m of headlining material and a suitable adhesive

If you buy the material from Hawke House ITYWF they will send you an invaluable guide on fitting headlining. In fact HH now make the lining fitting guide and an adhesive guide available to down load from their website.

although you have to stick the lining directly on the sides with a solvent based adhesive It is well worth fitting the headlining itself on ply boards.. You can the use a water resistant PVA wood glue which is water based not solvent based.

Good ventilation and an appropriate mask are essential when using solvent based adhesive ...the fumes are deadly. Hawke House can supply the mask

Good idea to remove the windows before doing the lining as it helps with the ventilation.

Several places will cut new windows to size and shape from the old ones. The following specifically will do boat windows: Hadlow marine, Eagle boat windows, Sunlight Plastics, Project plastics, Alda plastics, SeaClear. They all should have the right thickness and tint colour available

If you are fitting them in rubbers it is essential the the front windows are performed to match the curve. Check which suppliers can do this by "drape moulding" using the old windows as templates.

Check that the new rubbers you buy will conform the the tight radii of the corners , not all will ........ dont ask how I know this!

The worst part of replacing the lining is stripping out the old and removing the old adhesive

More advice can be obtained directly via the Owners Association
