Hcu

No power to to live feed on the ignition switch batteries good all connections and breakers ok had a new pcu 2 years ago ,I have looked for the hcu to no avail fearing it could be the helm station .

Well tried to trace red wire but a needle in a haystack would be easier, Volvo engines have been a nightmare for the past decade every year major expense.

Looking at the photos of the hcu I don’t have anything that looks like them ,so I am thinking my hcu s are in the throttle control fear of god the price if they are.

Switch the Datalink cable from port HCU to STB’D and vice-versa
You’ll get some alarms due to the chassis ID conflict but if the stb’d side key switch starts the port engine then the port side PCU and Datalink cable can be assumed to be OK
The ignition live feed (red) comes from the HCU, and so if there is no power on the red wire then either the HCU isn’t getting power (for which you could then check the Datalink cable which has two reds and two blacks), or the HCU is not supplying power to the red ignition wire.

Where are you based?
