Am due to do a "friendly" interclub cruiser race next weekend and am just putting the waypoints into my plotter and can find all of the marks except one. The start! :confused:

Can anyone give me the position of racing mark "CRB", I presume it's just outside Chichester Harbour somewhere, it is not listed on Cowes, HISC or any other listing I can find. I'd like to go out and look for it this weekend but it'd be nice to have a clue where to start.

Just out of interest, would this be the CCRC/CSC event?
 
I am not sure there is a CRB. The four racing buoys in Hayling Bay are CHI, HARD, BAY and W-E.
Note that the bay could be busy this weekend with a number of yacht races as well as the Laser Nationals still on I believe.
 
I actually think it's a conspiracy on the part of the "other club" to cause maximum confusion and ensure we are all OCS at the start!!

"CRB" in the SIs could mean ChiRacing Buoy?

I'm used to dodging Lasers anyway. On the way out and back from Cowes a couple of weeks ago on our ill fated "summer" cruise, with about 40-50 line astern cutting right across my intended track, I decided that holding my course and speed was the best policy. These guys are not only a damned sight more manouverable than me, they are without doubt far better sailors!! :D

Lasers? There were 'undreds of 'em!

We passed Chi Bar today at around 11:30 as the main fleet was heading out - as it had just gone from a SSW 3 to a 5 with a decent swell, we trundled in under furled jib, but got many friendly waves from international visitors.

wow what a beautiful boat, ive sailed Walton on the Naise, Osea Island, and french canals in St Omer.
If i ever find myself a rich sailor, i think ide love the competitive side of sailing;

Excellent idea to follow the other boats,
But no so clever if you are in competition and you want to be the lead boat...
