Anyone out sailing today? I wish I was.
I'm at home peeling potatoes. My mother in law who is staying with us, fell over 2 days ago and broke her leg, she is now in hospital having had an artificial hip (marine grade stainless I believe) so we will have to stay sober so we can visit her. I'm surrounded by unruly children and, to cap it all we are having to cook the turkey in the caravan cooker as the heating element on our domestic cooker chose yesterday evening to burn out giving me no opportunity to obtain a spare.
Next year is going to be different!
Happy Christmas

Very few sailing down here today. Oh the sound of unruly kids is what I miss the most on Xmas. Mine have all grown up and gone to the 4 corners of the world. The turkey is just an inconvenience. Enjoy your day Ghostlymoron, and when you relax in the evening, make your plans for when you go sailing in the beautiful Cardigan bay next year. And maybe further afield. I am hoping to finally get my boat in the water in April.
Merry Xmas

Not sailing exactly, but on a rig about 20miles NE of Forties. I am glad I am not in a small boat, since we have 50+Kts, rain and seas growing by the minute... and very little work going on :D
Father in hospital (knee replacement), No 1 son working in the Alps, SWMBO and No 2 son at home.
SWMBO is staying on the boat for a couple of days - while visiting father in law in hospital-and checking the lines before the next hard blow on Wednesday. I really hoped to get some sailing around New Year.. rather doubt it, since the wind does not seem to ease long enough for even a day sail at the moment.
Windy old winter so far...

Due to poor weather & timing, we had 4 sacks of potatoes per chopper flight over the last few days.. inviting all sorts of scurilous comments about fellow passengers :p
