Havengore Route

Can anyone tell me an accurate height above Chart Datum of the Broomway on the approach to Havengore? Have 1.4m draught and want to attempt this but cannot find precise height of the road on the chart. What minimum height of tide do I need?

I think the roadway is virtually at chart datum, it appears to be the same level as the surrounding sand.
Have you accessed the 'Havengore Route' website ?

When I passed over it last year I found the guys at Sutton & Smith boatyard at Great WAkering very helpful. THey even guided me in by letting me follow their workboat. THey told me that the channels there are always changing so local knowledge is a great help. Why not give them a ring?

My advice would be only ever attempt the Havengore at spot on high water or a little before as it gets very shallow very quickly when the tide starts to drop.

For your draft, I think that should be HW springs only, but as advised, check with the locals.

If it was 'at chart datum' (if by this you mean 0m above chart datum) then surely you would very rarely see it?

I used to go across in a lift keel Sonata with a draft of 1.3M. Would sometimes bump even close to high tide in mid-month tides. I couldn't do it at neaps but could easily at HW springs.
