Havengore creek

If any forum members have tried the Havengore shortcut, could they advise on the viability of this route for a boat drawing 1.1 heading outwards on a reasonably high spring tide. We are thinking of going through the bridge an hour before HW.

Haven't heard Havengore discussed here. The pilot books seem to indicate that you'd be fine. I have a 2m fin keel so Havengore isn't on my list of regular routes!!

these photographs were taken from a member's trimaran of less draught than you but another of our member's crossed on top of a spring in a Beneteau Oceanis 311, lift keel drawing the same as you.

It was tight and the shallowest part is across the Broomway but he made it without incident, but with some concern

1.1? You will fly through on a Spring, an hour before HW.

My mooring was in sight of Havengore for several years.

You can get 1.7m through there, but, a they say, its touch and go!

Nice days only though, no strong winds with a bit of south in it.

Came through last year
6.9m tide at dover, came in over an hour before high water mind you we only draw 3ft , didnt even see the broomway.

Mind you, that was ten days ago and I'm pining for the mudflats again.

I found this on a website

"The number to ring for the bridge operator at Havengore bridge is 01702 383436. I believe this number may only be available when the bridge is actually in use which is normally within 2 hours either side of high water."
