Possible purchaser of my boat has expressed concern about getting the boat to his choice of marina location due to air draft. He has discussed the journey with a lock keeper at one important lock apparently
My boat has approximately an air draft of 12 ft or 12.6" and draws 3 ft .
Will he have problems. ?
Have no idea of the area or width and height restrictions.
As comments welcome.

Whereabouts is his mooring? Boston side or salty side?

There is a large flybridge boat (Sealine 420) moors at Boston so bigger boats can get through. Obviously they have to judge the tide right to have enough water under the boat whilst still being able the clear the bridges.

According to the literature the Sealine 420 is 14'11" so at 12' he would have more tidal window to play with.

All indications are that the boat will be moored on the freshwater marina ,not sure of exactly which. Are there many to choose from, some mention of boat beam being important as boat would be going under/through a bridge which narrows markedly at the top ?
Boat is widest at deck level and narrows considerably at flybridge height.

If he intends to try and take it through Lincoln then he has no chance. Bridge height is 9'2"

If he is aiming for Brayford or Burton Waters he will have to go around via the Humber. There is no difference in time just distance.

Will ask where he intends to keep it.

The chap came to look at the boat yesterday and it turns out he wants to keep the boat in Boston.
Had a chat about the most sensible plan for a couple of novices to get boat back by water with regards to a half way stop and diversion ports.
Four viewers so far this weekend, now we wait.
Already scanning the web for a P35 or similar. :)
