Bloody good sharp cold chisel ....

A block, heavy mallet and a cold chisel ...... about the only thing that does it in one or two 'hits' ....... thats how we did it on ships etc. - the engineers wouldn't let you near their precious boltcutters - probably 'cause they knew it would knacker 'em !!!

Boltcutters ......... recc'd by certain boating bodies to carry ... bet they never really used 'em themselves !!!

Re: The sales of bolt-croppers soars ...

I had a boss once who bought these huge bolt-cutters. He promptly cut off a wheel clamp and gave it to me to dispose of. I knocked a hole in a cellar wall, chucked it in and re-sealed it. I can imagine the look on the faces of the 'Time Team 3003' crew when they dig up Fitzroy street in West London and find this dreadful yellow contraption.
