have there been thefts Chichester Marina recently?

Recently there have been some thefts from the marina, I have had a step fender taken, there has been a bike taken, and there "may" have been an outboard taken (Premier now denying that). I wonder if anyone knows more please? I am concerned they are not being open about this, and am asking for more info and security measures

I'm a berth holder there. I had an email from Premier alerting us to this issue and suggesting simple precautions eg don't leave stuff out.

I am writing to let you know that we have had one or two items go missing from around the marina – reportedly not from the pontoons. Having spoken with the Police, we are advised that there has been a recent spate of thefts in the harbour area and they are believed to have been perpetrated by opportunist thieves passing through.


Whilst we have increased our CCTV coverage of the marina, and are being vigilant, we recommend that at this time our berth holders take care to lock down bikes, outboards and other easily stolen items – ideally stowing them on board their boat.
