When I advertised my Guy Couach 6.6m on the two main internet advertising sites I expected loads of enquiries, but it has not happened, Perhaps 7 days is not a long time when you are selling a boat.
But could it be that its all down to price. I notice that some boats that are shown on a trailer are not sold with the trailer and some other features like auxiliary engines are also not included.
So I have reduced the price from £19,000 to £13,000 by excluding the trailer (£3000) and auxiliary outboard (£1000) and knocking another £2,000 off, just to see if I can get a quick sale.
I have even offered the boat to a couple of Boat dealers in PX against a brand new boat but they must be selling that many boats that they dont need to take a PX as they havent come back to me.
Thoughts anyone.

A waiting game.

"Thoughts anyone."

It took 4 months for somebody to come and look at my boat last winter, but first viewer bought the boat at my price.
It can take some time or no time at all.Luck of the draw.

I noticed that on Ebay someone with a boat for sale had been offered a car in PX. So if anyone has a Triumph TR 4/5/6 or a Masda MX3, Willys Jeep (or anything interesting) I am open to offers. (mind you I should have offered this before I dropped it by £6000)
Perhaps like "PCUK" above who has been trying for 20 months to sell a boat, PX is the way to move things along. When I was selling my house it was up for sale for 2 years so I did a deal and took a house in PX plus cash. Job Done.

I was thinking that if I changed from wanting a diesel boat to petrol then it might be easier to put my boat in PX against a new one as I would have thought that petrol boats are getting harder to sell. Mind you if they had not messed about with the price of Red Diesel and it was still at 20p a litre a petrol boat would now be totally un-sellable.
The logic for me to change to petrol is that OK it will cost 5 times as much to run, but I will get their quicker. Diddnt Jeremy Clarkson say somthing like "Diesel is for work and petrol is for fun"
I once had a Conway 26 with twin 130 Volvos and used 60 gallons of petrol going from Hollyhead to Ireland but that was when petrol was 3 gallons to a pound, I did it in 2 1/2 hours but it would go slower and use less.
So today I am going to ring round and to try and buy a New 23-25 ft boat, petrol, at perhaps £25- £28,000 and see if anybody will take my boat in PX plus cash. And I am not against having a boat with an outboard, things have changed since I bought my first 2/ outboard which was a "Gale"
So if there are any Boatdealers reading this Jim Taylor 07949135331.
