Looking at some of the prices mentioned there is lots of money to be made from boating mugs. Hang on, I am one as well.
I cannot see any justification in some of the prices charged apart from mugs like us pay it as we have little or no alternative.

Once you get to the Med you may find your costs rise.

1. Higher marina charges generally

2. More frequent lift-outs for anti-fouling due to:
- Warmer sea and getting warmer due to climate change
- Sea becoming cleaner due to swingeing environmental regulations
- Increasingly less toxic anti-foul due to environmental regulations

3. With no tidal variation to speak of no chance to do-it-yourself between tides.

Thirty years ago I used to anti-foul every three years; now I have to do it every year. In addition I have to dive in the marina regularly through the season to scrape Crustacea off my propeller to just be able to motor out of the berth.

How much is it where you are to get hauled out and antifouled?

I would like to find the most expensive and cheapest places.

We have a 45ft boat and are in La Rochelle in France. Haul out for 48 hours and put back is about 500 euro. Antifoul for 7.5L is 480 euros. Thats nearly a 1000 euro's without anodes. It would be cheaper to sail back to the UK an get it done there and then set off again.

What are prices like where you are?

Lilliput Poole, 25ft boat (limited to 30ft)... members self help club with its own premises.

<£30 craneout/in (but you have to do it on the days the crane is there)
£90 winter storage (6 months) (but you have to wait your turn till someone quits the club)

No there are no zeroes missing.

I dont think you could park a car for that, let alone a boat
antifoul it yourself at £40 + a can.

beers from £1 to £2. lunch for £2

Antifoul is classified as dangerous goods for transport so many companies can't be bothered with the extra hassle of packing marking and documentation hence only ship in uk.

That's the problem, has to be sent in hazardous goods container with suitably licensed carrier. These guys delivered to Portugal for me last year - europamarinepaints.wordpress.com - and someone was advertising EU45 for delivery anywhere.
