Hatch Seal

Hi Guys

The seal around the engine access hatch on my boat isnt in good shape, I am trying to find the correct product to replace it but searching on the web isnt throwing anything up. I have attached a photo highlighting the sealing material I need, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

looks a bit like the stuff used to stop draughts on household doors, fixed with double sided sticky tape.

It's a really common product. Good hardware/chandlers sell it from stock. Essexboatyards stock it. Or google "foam gasket tape"

Try your yellow pages for sound proofing. They call it acoustic tape. I found a supplier in York. Google "acoustic tape" provides a number of organisations eg.

Thanks guys, got it ordered. Also downloaded a decibel meter for my iphone so I can measure before and after and see how effective its been!

A mate has an identical boat so I can use that as a reference point.
