Hi all,
I need to have a hatch on our Endurance 40 refurbished. Before I go to town and remove the frame fully from the deck (they are very well bedded down and that is not the problem) is it practical to dissemble by way of the hinges and thus avoid disturbing the base frame?
The hinges seem to consist of stainless steel pins into the alu frame - so conceivably they are an interference fit and might just drift out - OR there may be another fixing arrangement I'm not aware of (or just corroded solid in place!).
Photos of the hatch below - any hints / tips / input gratefully received, my plan at present (due to time) is to get them to NuSign marine in Plymouth to have the lenses replaced / re-bedded (the issue is the lens bedding material has failed - at the same time on 3 similar hatches!). Be good to know if anyone has experience of similar hatches, which I think are pretty decent quality 1980s vintage.
