Any members here of this quite new and seemingly very unstuffy club?

I'd be interested in your thoughts and experiences from 1st hand experience.

After several years of slooping around with the same set of friends and family, I'm looking to widen my boating social circle.

We went to the initial meeting on the lightship ... wasn't impressed so half way through went upstairs and had lunch instead. Can't see any advantage in a yacht club without a club to meet and eat and drink in ... you can sail anywhere and make friends anywhere you might end up without paying a membership ... if they had a base I'd think about it ... maybe they have now?

They don't seem to have clubhouse. They use the lightship at Haslar every fortnight for a meet.

I have been a member since it started ( about 3 years)

must admit not done a lot with them and thinking of not bothering renewing next year
