From the Haslar Marina website - using 2006 prices:
For visitors:
£2.80 per meter at the weekend
£2.65 per meter during the week.
with elec charges of £3.50 (it says per meter, but I don't believe them! - it is per day!)
For berth holders the elec charge is 8.9ppKwH.
So - they are charging you for 39KwH ...
For most, assuming you come in during the afternoon and disappear mid morning (being generous) you've got around 16hrs in the berth ... in order to be getting value for money you need to be using > 2Kw per hour!! So keep that fan heater going!
In all - for an overnight stay for say - a 10m vessel at the weekend would be
£28.00 for the berth without Elec
£31.50 for the berth with Elec
Move up the harbour slightly into Gosport Premier Marina and the 2007 charge for visitors between 8 and 12.5m is £2.50 per m INCLUDING elec.
so the same 10m boat gets charged £25 for an overnight stay (with or without elec) ... saving £2.50 without elec or £6.50 with elec ...
Well - for an overnight stop we don't always need elec, but it is nice and saves gas - so with a saving eitherway we will go to Gosport Marina and use the elec, where we don't feel obliged to use 39Kw just to get our moneys worth.... !!
