Have the sales of new boats "crashed" like new car sales. The indications are all in place. I want to part exchange my small 22ft boat for a new one, but when I ring some dealers they are not buying in any new boats for stock and the ones I have emails have not bothered to reply.
Presumably its all down to cash flow.

He is selling up 30 ft stuff ok

I sold a 35 ft vessel worth plus 2k (used) after only a weeks advertising and a couple of phone calls
I,m not a Broker or a Boat sales bod by the way. (sold fer me mate!)
But move in boaty circles etc
Up in North Wales
Things have been selling
Don't want to name makes or dealers etc
Seems 2010 is a lot more optimistic than 08/ 09

It might be that dealers have not forward ordered, accordingly, the factories have turned down production, the Euro is strong so sales have been made in mainland Europe where they can posibly get more than here, the net result, there are a reduced number of boats to sell in the UK, so if there is a small upturn they cannot feed it.

It might be that or credit crunch apathy,there are lots of "not bothered to reply"

People are doing deals, but both the dealer and the buyer have to be realistic on the figures.
