Probably no help, but it is worth making sure that there is nothing in the pipe that may be wide eneough to temporarily block a fitting. Years ago, I had problems with a very old Lister engine. (Single cylinder, with cylinder head cooling tank). This would run and then stop, over and over again. It was caused by a grain of corn in the fuel pipe. The fuel carried it forward until it blocked a fitting, and it fell away due to gravity when the engine stopped.
