This may be a test too far for the good nature of fellow forumites. I need a new overall cover made for my Sunny Superhawk 50 that lives in South of France. I have a great heavy duty one that fits perfectly but it is navy blue and gets incredibly hot, So I am going to get a new one made in a light colour and light weight. All easy so far ! Trouble is that the cover makers locally are a) crazy expensive and b) unreliable in terms of timing. The suggestion has been made that I send the old cover back to UK and get the new one made here and I have had several reasonable quotes and an expectation of 4 to 6 weeks to get it done. The only reluctance I have encountered is that the new cover makers are nervous about using the old one as a template with no other reference so I am wondering if anyone would let me use their boat as a template ? I bring my cover back, put it on the donor boat...... if it fits, then the new cover is made to fit the donor boat and bobs your uncle !
Ideally a sunseeker Superhawk 50 from 2002, but a post 1998 48 would likely also work.
Let me know if you think I’m bonkers, or PM me if you’ve got a Superhawk !
