Has all boating stopped on the Thames or WHAT ?

I have been quite pleased with the amount of movements I have seen lately. Surely not as much as I have seen but encouraging never-the-less.

Well looks like you are all still on your mooring too.

Yer... well some of us were painting our bilges yesterday.
Had bite in the club last night and chatting to a group from Weybridge ? Boat Club. They came down for the Sweeps Festival last week and sort of got stuck due to weather being a bit windy for the trip back round.
Give them their due they did actually venture up beyond Allington.
Confirmed that we had 70 visiting boats over that weekend. In order to feed them all as kitchen a bit stretched,a BBQ was set up on roof terrace
St Kats for us at end of month.

The word you are having trouble with is Mariners, there, said it for you.

We've just come back from a great week at Remenham/Henley with Bray Cruiser Club - thirteen boats out and six participating in the Boat Handling. Plus this morning BCC out on the Boveney/Bray stretch practising anchoring in a line in prep for our Fleet Review.

Aha Weybridge Mariners......should be well on their way back by now, reckon about 9 hours from Rochester to Teddington.

Actually Trottie has a Tumble Dryer . . . :)

WOW! Really?

Moxon journeyed to the pub today, ( I had a burger instead of steak today. Burgers are low calorie right?). Then the summer ended so I went slowly back to the mooring, steering through the rain with the restricted view of my tiny windscreen.

Joined a pal on his boat where I tried his peach schnaps (sp?) and he tried my raspberry liquer. Just then a hare lolloped along the bank about 4' from my pal's window. Have not been that close to a hare before and felt privileged to experience it.

What was this thread about?
