Am intending a 5am start from Pin Mill, foul tide out of Orwell (may drop down to Halfpenny on Fri evening) and last of favourable tide in Wallet hopefully making the Spitway just before HW so the SW leg of getting into the Crouch still has a little flood or is slack. Then the 24 horses will be helping.
Alternative if Wallet is truly ghastly we turn tail and come by car!

For what it's worth , last year we came back from Woolverstone to fambridge , left marina about 1.5 hrs before LW and as there was no wind motored all the way but made it in 6.5 hrs which I thought was petty good - auto pilot and sun hats !! , probably the complete opposite to what this w/e will bring ..

A little ditty to sing when going through The Wallet..
I composed it one fine aftnoon on the way to Pin Mill... The tune (if there is any) is Morningtown.
Rocking rolling gybing
Out among the spray
Somewhere there's a mooring
With a pub not far away..... (Chorus)
Can't go down the cabin
Dinner's on the floor
I am gettihg hungry
but there is no more.
I'm cold wet tired and seasick
What am I doing here
I should be sat by the fire
With a lovely pint of beer

Forecast promised sun
Instead it's raining cats and dogs
I do not call this fun
White horses on the horizon
All galloping this way
Wind is rising steadily
Its such a filthy day

I think you need to talk to your navigator... If you are on the M11 between Ipswitch and Burnham, you may need to worry about going aground in deep water?

I was on Gladys for an hour or so a couple of hours ago, and saw windspeeds from 14-30 knots on the relatively sheltered mooring

Indeed but you might find the application of the thumbscrews to certain parties from more northerly origins instructive on that score
Anyway, motor or not Erbas and Alchemist did at least make it in the face of adversity (although I have to concede the bragging rights to Peter and his crew. Did I say crew? Huh, I was single handed I'll have you know)

As you correctly say - 2 boats made the meet by water and one was single handed, I took the easy option and let my crew do the work ;-)
