I do not have my books to hand but I would guess at about 30-35 miles, my log tells me that it was 43nm from Ramsgate to Brightlingsea a few weeks ago.
Just being nosy, but why would you keep a boat in Oare Creek in Kent if you live in Essex, where the choice and charm of boaty places is so much greater? I ask as someone who lives in Kent and keeps his boat in Essex, which of course makes perfect sense!
i bought the boat in september and it came with the mooring so kept it there but fed up with the drive and lack of water so want to move to either burnham or maldon
I guess the real answer to your question is that it's two tides from Oare Creek to Maldon, as you need a HW to leave one and the next HW to reach the other.
Three good pubs if you count the Shipwrights as well, but the beer's a lot cheaper in Hollowshore CC on Sunday lunchtime, within sight of one of the pubs (The Castle)!
in oare creek i need at least a tide of 5.1m to get off the mud but at maldon i can get out more often and its only 45mins from home instead of 1.5 hours the mooring is also next door to the queens head [good beer good food] and you never know might bump into dave selby
