I think I originally put this in the wrong forum! I'm looking for advice on the Hartlepool to Hull leg of a trip to York. Boat will make 20knots. Where's the best place to stop overnight? (Whitby? Spurn anchorage?) Anyone recommend doing the leg in one day or is that over ambitious?

i've done Scarborough to Barton Haven, just beyond Hull in a small yacht. So i guess it would be quite easy with a fast motor boat from Hartlepool.

Spurn is a good anchorage in winds from NNE to South, Hale Sand fort on the south bank is good from south to west.

don't be tempted to cut across the Binks on the way into the humber they are dangerous with shallow depths and rough seas.
