I am moving my boat down to the Solent in April and am looking for a good suggestion for one night lay over on the Harleyford to St Kats Leg. Previously I've moored up near Bray Lock 'cause there's an OK restaurant called Charcols a short walking distance.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Rules are good food, good drink and even possibly good company

Mooring at Bray means you have a hard slog the next day coupled to the timing to meet and use the tide. Consider Kingston just below the Bridge starboard hand, you then have all of Kingston at your disposal and an easy run to St Kats.

We usually stop over at Hampton Court on the way down to St Kats and the sea, but maybe this makes it a long day from Harleyford ? We are berthed at Windsor Race Course, and reckon on about six/seven hours.
The Thames Court Hotel just up river from Sheperton Lock is OK for a few ales and a feed, you can then top off with the fuel offers going at Shepperton Marina before heading out.
It all depends on how much time you have for the tide out of Teddington the next day.

Yea Trev., you have just reminded me, go through Hampton Court Bridge, down past the Island, come round the back of the island and there are excellent moorings at the pub there. None of the Nouvelle Cuisine Ponge, proper grub washed down with Vin Plonk almost as good as a Doner Kebab and a pint of Guiness.

Can't you ask Harleyford to ask Shepperton to give you a free night's berth and then if the tides are right you can do St. Kats in a day.

If you are a member of HMYC, why not phine Thames Motor Yacht Club at Hampton Court, for an overnight mooring. They have always been very hospitable to us.
Very nice restaurants just over the bridge. Reccommend the Greek one.
