Any Forumites from the Harleyford Marina? Just moved there and want to know the best eating joints/takeaways in Marlow and any other gems you may have about the area/marina.
Great thanks, will try them all and let you know (if my liver can cope!) PGD, will look out for you. We are on Manor Island in Melita Too. Moved down from Wargrave. Cracking venue at Harleyford, even in the rain! I heard the Flower Pot was good, but we couldn't get moored due to traffic last year!
Steve & Melita
If that is the Flowerpot they are talking about, up the top of Ferry Lane, then the last meal I had there was cak. Alright if you want quantity but certainly not cordon bleu.
Interesting garden with strange avian wildlife wandering around, and fascinating collection of fish in boxes on the walls inside. Lots of walkers and cyclists. Food decidedly average last time i was there.
I was at Harleyford today, working on my boat. Lots of other people working on their boats on the hardstanding too. The crane was lifting boats in all day. All this activety must have something to do with our mooring invoices arriving or else getting a few weekends away before the Thames dries up! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Yep, sure enough; boat back in water, invoice through the letterbox complete with newsletter saying Thames will be trickle by May and by the way, leave the hose at home!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Still - she's back in the water, so bring it on!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
The Pub Pheran is talking about at the top of Ferry Lane is the Dog and Badger - I think and yes I heard it was expensive etc.
The flower pot is up river of Hurly Island - Corrected from previous post!!!! on the left, there is a jetty that sticks out, you have to walk up a path - say 10 mins walk. Morings limited, 4 boats if you tie up correctly.
Or drive through Hurly toward Henley to get to it.
I'm in the Marina now, did two years at west end stages - oh you'll love the cross current when mooring /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Show boat changed hands last year - bit more modern now, not ate there yet.
