Harken is nice kit, but I don't think it's noticably more expensive than similar-spec Lewmar, Ronstan, Schaefer, Rutgerson, etc. I needed a new mainsheet system last year, and chose Lewmar. Seems good, works well, looks nice. Time will tell.
Very good gear but a lot more expensive - for certain applications I certainly think their blocks (especially their carbo-blocks) are worth the money.
However I think you have a look-alike range in the Antal range of winches, even down to the sizes (which are not as large as the Lewmars of similar nomenclature).
It's a case of getting what you pay for - Barton gear is much better value for money but much more agricultural than Harken.
