Hardy 62....Anyone else feeling tempted

Particularly small anchor for a 62 footer. Thought the panda genny looked a bit small too. Seats look saggy along with mattresses. What are those plywood boxes by the mast? What about the water trap in the corner of that upper deck.

They would be better off spending £10k on new soft furnishings, lamps etc and brightening up the interior and making it look like it is worth £1,000,000 and not £50k. Those curtains are bloody awful and whoever thought the forecabin was luxurious and inviting needs shooting. I've never seen so much vinyl. You would feel like you've fallen into an ice cream tub.
I understand the original owner wanted practical. He certainly got that. Practical as in 1970's caravan...

that makes perfect sense; have you been watching that program on bbc2 about the super rich Russians.;)

Its being sold by Marks family, Windboats didn't take it on when they bought Hardy

That makes sense. I got an email from Malcolm Pannell, Hardy's long time sales manager just before the Soton show saying that he would be there specifically to try to get a buyer for the 62 and I wondered at that time whether the connection to Windboats didn't exist as I know Malcolm didn't go over to them when they took over the Hardy business.

It was at that time when Malcolm decided to do his own thing, I last saw him at sibs, a great guy whose knowledge would be of great benefit to Windboats, this kind of thing happens a lot when company's get took over.

Ah so no doubt they have an emotional attachment to its value as well.

Externally I quite like it, but you can't just scale up the interior if a smaller boat. It felt like a horrid old dog of a thing inside and while I'm sure many like the traditional interiors in the smaller hardy models soooo much dark Matt wood just doesn't work. Also those people just aren't in the £1m plus game - if you want to sell biats in that much much smaller market you have to broaden your appeal.

I tried to get a look on that boat at Southampton but was told I couldn't because there was a prospective buyer on board. It might have been my not serious buyer vibes from my appearance but we have all seen pretty woman!!!

Thats good news finally. I still think that fundamentally there is a great boat inside the Hardy 62 providing it is finished to a better standard and priced correctly
