Hardy 25 gear shift cable length

We’re proud owners of a 1986 Hardy 25 - aq151 engined, penta 290 leg.

The recently installed volvo shift lever is, after a year of smooth operation, now failing to engage reverse - in fact there’s no rearward lever movement at all.

Suspicion is that we have a seized cable. As I want to use the old cable to route a replacement, I’m trying to avoid removing to measure.

Can anyone help with the length of replacement cable that I’ll need plse?

Unusual for a cable to fail after only a year. Have disconnected the cable at the gear box to check. Another item to check is the engine in neutral when the shift lever is ?

i only replaced the control lever last year, not the cable.

Its stamped on it but which end is down to luck
