We are starting to think about a boat for next year...

Looking for a day boat for year round solent use. overnight is not critical but the occasional (incase i have a but to much to drink) would be nice but not critical.

It has to look good (in SWMBO's eyes) and i really want a hard top / enclosed cabin so we can use in the winter..

For me the XO240 cabin is a winner but MRs Zippy isn't so keen...

Looking for a max of 30 ft and ideally less and looking at a budget of 60 / 70 K ish.

Needs reasonable pace (not talking Hunton speeds) but not looking semi displacement.

fire your suggestions...

Excellent choice.
Had a Targa 25 for 15yrs - still mourning her sale. Fantastic fun.

We have 2 where we are. One a dive boat one a commercial fisher. They go out in all weathers (within reason) all year round. It's the Police boat of choice for many authorities and thousands of them around the Baltic used as weekend taxis for the well healed. Failing that I would be going for the Rodman range.

Huntsman 28 with a full cockpit canopy.

There's a few XO boats running around the Solent, to me, they look hideous and over priced.

humm. Huntsman 28 huh. interesting. i was really taken by your one Ben, would be an easy sell to the Mrs on looks, we are going to spend a fair bit of time looking at it if things go to plan.

I actually really like the XO range but then i also like pickled onion monster munch so what do i know!

Not keen on the Aquador range although i can see they offer more.

Targa's are pretty robust but the chances of us going out in that are slim and to me its like driving round in an old series 1 defender which i don't like... very good at what they do but not for me.

To be clear, we are looking for a day boat with a roof more than anything else. looks like we will try and get to the boat show for an initial look around this weekend and see what we can learn...

Didn't realise you didn't like my Aquador. :)
