We have changed our plans and are going to Winter our boat in France around the Camargue area possibly looking to move on to the Riviera next spring.
Can anyone recomend a good yard / Hardstanding where I can get a stainless Steel back transom built to take solar panels.
Will also need access myself to carry out some work I have planned

Thanks

Probably the best haul out yard in the western Med is the one at Almerima - I used it several times and it has all facilities - Not 100% certain re stainless but ask them - I would be surprised if there was not a guy doing it...

you need to book very early to get in so call them now - there is another in Almeria bay whose name escapes me but is also apparently very good - Almerima will tell you if they cannot get you into theirs - both are Spanish state owned and run.

Port Napolean. Is the guy refered to still there ?

Is the guy refered to still there ? I was there in 1998/9 and whilst some of the staff were unhappy, an English guy, one of the brothers I suspect, was ok by me. There was an owner there at the time. It is two years since the incidents mentioned. Maybe he has gone?

You are talking about 7 to 8 years ago. all the complaints I've seen have been within last year or two. There is much legal action going on, and most of the websites complaining have been closed down, despite nearly 40 of the marina occupants banding together to complain.

hmmm! Brendan,

Not to sure about this, we are there & have no problems. I must admit we do not deal with any of the port owned facilities only the lift, we use a British run engineering facility on site. Apart from that having visited the port on many occasions & been very well treated.

We bought our boat thru the local Ancasta brokerage, who I believe have an interest in the management of Port Napoleon.

It may well be a storm in the proverbial, or lack of communication, who knows?
but whatever I don’t think there is any problems there now. They do have a very flourishing facility, that do a lot of work for both New Bens & Bavs
